    table manners

I have tried my hardest, but it seems that I can?t teach my child table manners. She is resistant to the point where I wonder if someone is un-training her when I am not looking. We work really hard to get her to say ?please? and ?thank you? but even after years of this, we have to keep reminding her. She doesn?t seem to get the concept of eating over her plate so the food does not go all over her, and even though we tell her about this very single meal, she doesn?t get it. I don?t know what to do.

It?s funny, because she watches a few children?s shows that promote table manners, among many other wonderful things. I know she knows what to do, but for some reason, she just won?t do it. I guess I shouldn?t be surprised. She?s a rebel and I know that I am in for some major battles when she gets older. However, I wonder what I am going to do if I can?t even get her to learn or at least try to use her table manners. What must other moms think of me?

I know they probably don?t think much about it. I know that I am not the only one with a child who couldn?t care less about their table manners. It is almost comforting when I see other children who are my daughter?s age eating just like she does, and I see the looks of horror on their mothers? faces and I know it?s not just me. Most of us are trying, but there seems to be some revolt against learning table manners.

Now that I think about it, I think it?s revolt in general. I think it?s just childhood, but since I can?t remember that time in life very well, I would think that I probably did it too. I know that rebelling and trying to find things out on your own are a part of childhood, and is a great way for kids to learn about the world and about who they are going to be. However, if I had just one wish for this moment in time, it would be that she would use her table manners once in a while. I know she has them and knows them, but she just won?t use them. There are bigger battles I suppose, but I for one am glad that this is my biggest worry with her at the moment.

    Ladies watches

    ladies watches

It would seem that watches are not as necessary as they use to be. Most people that carry a cell phone tend to use them to tell the time, and they find that they don?t need to wear watches any longer, especially if they don?t like to wear them for whatever reason. However, ladies watches are still as popular as they once were, as they are often an accessory as well as a way to tell time. There are some who may never use them for time, but they would feel naked if they didn?t have one on. Thankfully, there are some great styles and brands out there from which to choose.

I wore ladies watches for a very long time. I never usually bought them though, as they were usually gifts. The hard part about giving the gift of ladies watches is that you really have to know what a woman likes before you buy something like that for her. My husband once spent a lot of money on a watch for me, but he got one that was gold. I never wear gold, and it did not go with anything else that I owned. I would go without jewelry just to wear the watch for him, but it was soon in the drawer because I didn?t wear it very often and it clashed with everything else that I wore.

If you want to buy ladies watches for the special female in your life, you have to know what she likes. Something as simple as buying the wrong type of metal will be a big mistake. Look at the necklaces and the bracelets she might wear. If she doesn?t wear them, look at her wedding ring, if she has one. Women tend to choose one type of metal and that is what they wear exclusively. Some prefer gold, but some (like me) prefer silver. If you can get the right type of metal, you have half of the battle won.

After that, you might be on your own when choosing ladies watches. You could see what she has, and buy something that is similar. Just remember that even though they tell time, many ladies see these as an accessory, and they won?t wear or use it unless they really like it. They do make great gifts though, and you can find great prices around the holidays, and you can also find some great ladies watches online if you search around. You might even find a great deal on eBay.

    Gift baskets for men

    Additional resources

When I decided to go into business making gift baskets for men, my family was pretty skeptical to say the least. It wasn’t that they didn’t trust me to come up with good gifts. As a matter of fact, since I was five or six years old, I was known for my excellent gift suggestions. Whenever one of my siblings was trying to pick out a Father’s Day present, they would come to me. I would intuitively know the perfect gifts for him when no one else could shop for my father. I used to make the most beautiful handmade gift baskets and send them to my grandmother. She was delighted, but a little bit jealous. You see, my presents were even better than hers!

Nonetheless, people were a little bit less optimistic about my gift basket for men idea. My mom said that if anyone could do it I could, but she still wasn’t quite sure that I could. Gift baskets for men, after all, just weren’t the way things were done. Everyone knows what kind of gifts men are supposed to like: pocket watches, pocket knives, gadgets and gizmos. You don’t get men nicely decorated, frilly gift baskets! It just isn’t done. Nonetheless, I saw the opening, and I decided to go for it.

It turned out to be surprisingly easy. As I soon found out, there are plenty of gift baskets for men that go over quite well without insulting the intended recipient’s masculinity. You see, there are many thing that men like that can go in gift baskets. Cigars, sausage, cheese, brandy, and wine are all perfectly serviceable gift basket ideas. These are all things that you might get for a man anyway, so why not wrap them up nicely and send them in the mail?

As it turns out, my gift baskets for men went over incredibly well. I introduced them around Christmas, and from that point until New Year’s, I was making a new gift basket for men every week. I had variety baskets, ones that matched the right wine with the right cheese, baskets for pipe smokers, baskets for cigar smokers ? if you could name it, I could put it together. Not only was it lucrative, it was fun too! Starting my own business meant that I got to be my own boss, and I didn’t have to answer to anyone. Who doesn’t dream about that? I was living the dream!

    Electric razors

    Additional resources

The old five-o-clock shadow. It’s there on a daily basis whether we men like it or not. For some it even comes earlier. Gees, does the process of shaving ever end? Well, of course not. Cleaning up those cheeks and chins is a routine that’s here to stay. The best thing you can do is make the most of it. Of course I realize that a few men are thinking HUH. How can we make the most of a tedious ritual like shaving? It’s not that difficult really. The first thing you need to focus on is acquiring the right equipment. For some men this will consist of brushes and blades, and for others it will come down to the top electric razors. But first, make sure you give both methods a shot in order to see which you really prefer.

I used to be an electric razor man. From the first day I shaved my chin and upper lip at the tender age of fourteen, I was taking advantage of electric razors. It just seemed like the cool route to take. I certainly didn’t want to walk around with tiny pieces of toilet paper on my face. So anyway, the first one I tried was a Norelco. It worked okay, but I wasn’t so impressed by the triple-blade system. This couldn’t be all there was. Then down the road I put down my father’s electric shaver and tried out a Braun foil shaver. AHH, this was much better. It shaved closer, and there was no irritation. I assumed back then that everyone preferred electric razors, except maybe for a few old geezers. Man was I ever wrong. At the age of 22 I tried a traditional Gillette Sensor. NICE! This baby cut closer than the electric razors I was previously used to. Of course there were a few minor nicks at first, but nothing major. I then converted to the cartridge razors, and now enjoy the Mach 3.

Finding the right razor for you may take some trial and error. One thing is for certain; if you never want to deal with nicks or cuts, electric razors are right for you. Go for the newest Braun model with the integrated trimming system and self-cleaner. These are awesome shaving machines that won’t disappoint. Moreover, I recommend picking up an electric shaving solution that’s offered by Lab Series and a few other men’s shaving lines. These make the process go much smoother in the morning when you’re still groggy.

    Cowboy decor

    Continued from

The Old West is a favorite theme for many people, who like to dress up in a Stetson and boots and hit the line dancing clubs. There is no reason why this fascination with America’s history cannot be indulged at home too and cowboy d?cor is becoming increasingly popular. Whether it is used for the home or workplace, a homely ranch type feeling is ideal for the cowboy or cowgirl at heart.

These decorating items are easily available, enabling the enthusiast to have a cowboy d?cor theme in just one room or throughout a building. There are a number of companies that sell western items for the home and clothing and accessories. The most popular motifs are cowboys, horses, cattle, brands, spurs, saddles and ropes. These images evoke a simpler time, of campfires, rodeos and driving herds across the range! Many hotels and holiday cabins employ this theme, especially in western resorts.

Everything in the home can be incorporated into cowboy d?cor. A room, furnished in wood and leather will benefit from finishing touches such as cowboy d?cor themed clocks, bookends and fireplace ornaments. Furniture can be enhanced by just the right doorknob and drawer pull. It is important that the choice of lighting sets the right tone, with the appropriate floor lamps, table lamps and lampshades. Even chandeliers can be given a cowboy theme.

Any bedroom should have a relaxing and cozy ambience. Western throwovers and duvet sets help to achieve this. Children’s bedrooms can be made a fun place with scenes from the old west on wallpaper and rugs. The kitchen too can carry on a cowboy d?cor theme on glassware, dinnerware, coasters, cruet sets, napkin rings and wine racks. Bathroom items with western motifs are available too, on towel bars, vanity sets, toilet seats, medicine cabinets, towel sets and shower curtains.

The walls can be decorated with prints of typical western scenes or metal signs, declaring welcoming sentiments such as howdy! The image of John Wayne, as he appeared in his movie, True Grit is also popular. The area outside the home can also be given the cowboy d?cor treatment with a fire pit, boot scraper, weather vane and door knockers.

In addition to home d?cor items, there is a range of western themed leather purses, handbags, wallets and briefcases. Cowboy images also appear on cell phone holders and hand luggage. All these products won’t improve the line dancing but they will bring heaps of fun.
