    Breakup = Eating Bliss?

Can a decadent chocolate brownie really help is relieving your sadness from a recent break-up? Well, there seems to be a new craze in cookbooks that are coming out with recipes to cure those sorrows.
We all handle break ups differently. Some of us pull out the Ben & Jerry’s and eat the entire pint in one sitting. Others, like myself don’t eat at all. (But of course, it depends on how hard the break up is, doesn’t it?) Even though, I am not one to eat my sorrows away, I just have to share these hilarious books with you. I read about them on Single Edition, in an article called “Bummed About a Breakup? Find our How to Bake Your Way to Bliss“. Not only are the book titles hilarious, so are each of the recipe names. They just crack me up!
Nicole Porter’s book, “The Break-Up Cookbook: Recipes for Singles Who Aren’t Getting Any … Anymore!” features such recipes as:
No Banana (I’m a Lady) Pudding
Knock ‘em Dead Flourless Chocolate Cake
Get the pudding recipe on SingleEdition here! The book soon will be available for purchase on AmazonBorders and Barnes and Noble.

Erin Bolger known as “The Happy Baker” wrote a book titled, “A Dater’s Guide to Emotional Baking”. With such recipes like:
Me + You – You = Ice Cream Cookie Sundae
My Mom Didn’t Like You Anyway, Cupcake
It’s Not Me, It’s You, Sea Salted Caramels
Who Needs a Man on Valentine’s Day Biscotti
Make sure to check out her website to order your copy of the book here!
And don’t just buy a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, make something for your heart that is extra decadent. See recipe below!
With such yummy recipes out there I may just need to switch how I handle break-ups in the future! : )

How To Impress A French Girl

So, you want to learn how to impress a French girl? It’s really not that hard to do, but you must use the proper approach and technique. Every culture has their own views and opinions on what is hot, and what is not. French women are super hot, and one of the best kinds of women to impress! Read on to learn how to impress a French woman.

    Know your French history.

You don’t necessarily need to speak fluent French, but you should be knowledgeable of the French culture and history. No French woman wants a dumb guy who doesn’t know anything about her or her country. Impress her with French facts! It is not a bad idea to bring up topics such as French art or literature, or the French Revolution. She’ll be super impressed that you actually pay attention to where she comes from and her culture.

    Think sophisticated.

A typical American date might consist of dinner and a movie, but when you’re trying to impress a French woman, you will need to branch out. French women normally have more sophisticated and refined tastes than Americans, and your date should be sophisticated and classy enough to impress her. Try a trip to the art museum, a wine-tasting event, or ballroom dancing as a date.

    Be a proper gentleman.

Especially when trying to impress a French girl, you should always use your best manners. This means holding the door open for her, paying for the entire date yourself, and other important gentlemanly gestures. French women love a chivalrous and honorable man who knows how to treat a woman just right.

    Be charming and funny.

You don’t need to be cracking lame jokes every minute, but a French woman will love a man who has a sense of humor and can put the charm on. Just because the typical French girl likes men who are classy and polite, this does not mean she wants a stiff man who has doesn’t know how to have a good time. Laugh and have fun, and most importantly, relax! Be yourself and let your true colors shine through to her. Do not try to act like someone you are not, as a French girl can easily point out a fake.

    Dress your best.

The French are very fashion forward, and pay attention to details such as what you are wearing. Basically, you want to dress to impress! Dress stylish and sophisticated all at the same time, while still maintaining your own personal style. The worst thing you can do is show up to a date with a French girl wearing flip flops and an old t-shirt. Big mistake, and she will not be impressed!

Don’t talk too much about French politics or events.

While you will want to be knowledgeable about the French culture to some degree, it is a big no-no to bring up politics on a date, even if they are French politics. Keep away from subjects such as those until you really know the person and the topic is appropriate for discussion.

    The Backburner Burn

Often when I start a new relationship I become more insecure than I was when I was single. I worry that this new relationship that seems fulfilling and fun will flop and I will be disappointed. I worry that I won’t be as fun anymore when I am a part of a couple. Because of this new found insecurity. I do something bad, and I know a lot of my friends do the same. We keep our backburner suitors, maybe too long. We don’t cheat, we just forget to tell them we have a boyfriend. We would be furious, to the point of questioning our new relationship, if our new boyfriend had old chickenheads hanging around. But, in our defense we have no idea where this new relationship is going. We would hate to end these ‘friendships’ prematurely and have no one to dine and over-wine us out of misery. Plus, we don’t want to scare off our new man by being overly committed, (some might find this clingy) right?

Sure we have taken ourselves off the market and we aren’t hanging out with our old suitors but a status change hasn’t occurred on facebook. No need to tell everyone we are taken. We didn’t want to be exclusive with these suitors when we were single and had the chance. But like our old, one size too big, boot-cut jeans, we keep them around just in case the cheese and white wine pounds really start to build up. It’s nice to know we have options and won’t have to build a new wardrobe of men if things go wrong.

Also, it’s comforting. There is a part of life that is more fun when you’re single, the part where lots of people want to take you out for drinks and dinner, you can drink too much without anyone telling you that you are embarrassing them and of course you have plenty of time for friends . Flirting is fun (but not totally appropriate when you’re in a relationship). If you already have a phone full of people who enjoy your flirting, why cut off communication with them too quickly?

While it’s fun and makes you feel good to have these suitors texting you and calling you, you may find yourself dating these second-string sub-par suitors while thinking of your recent ex. It might just be inappropriate to keep these guys around once the commitment has been made. Even if you aren’t cheating.
